169 days part 3 (119)

I now have only 119 days left of my personal makeover before I head back to see my high school friends. As of now I have not lost any weight, my acne is still out of control but better; surprisingly my hair has actually had a drastic change for the better and is getting better daily. changing my diet will hope most of this jump start and I am definitely eating a lot better; I would say processed foods have reduced by 20% and organic foods are now about 60% of my diet.

The main reason I decided to do this update is because through my journey with Christ over the past couple of months I have decided to make a major wardrobe change. As many of you can probably already guess is that I have decided to start wearing skirts! If you knew me personally this would be a huge shock. I currently own one skirt that I wear to church and on Christmas and I am a tomboy type of gal that likes to be able to do things that I don't see working in skirts, but I am willing to try. I feel that God has been calling me to change this part of my life for quite some time and I really want to listen to him.

One reoccurring statement that I have seen on many Christian blogs and online ministries is that    "[w]e cannot say that we have made Him Lord of our life, and yet keep certain areas of life for our own pleasure. You may have heard it said, 'He is lord of all, or He isn’t lord at all'". With this being said I am handing this whole transformation over to him and letting him shape me to his plan. This new life style was presented to me through the video posted on Women Living Well. They mention the verse Romans 12:1 "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship"(ESV). Our bodies and spirit should be his from the time we are born to eternity.

Now I know a lot of people will have the retort to this saying that when Deuteronomy was written that both men and women wore robes and I completely get that. The reason I am doing this is:

  1. It's more modest                                                                                                                         Pants tend to reveal more curves and attract unsavory attention (some skirts do to), but with the right skirts and apparel I feel that I could achieve more modest clothing with skirts.
  2. There seems to be a confusion                                                                                                         In our day and age there is a lot of people saying they were born the wrong gender, cross dressing and homosexuality. I am not hating on these people we have free will but I do not want to add to the confusion in the world, I want there to be a true defining point between men and women in the fashion world.
I guess what this whole post is really trying to say is that I will not be shaken or formed by this world, but I will be formed and guided towards my life in Jesus Christ. I hope that this post has brought some of you closer to God today love you all :)
