17 years of life

Today is my last day being 16 years old! Time has flown and I am very happy with the things I have accomplished. There are many many things I want to complete in my 17th year of life and many things I want to change before I start my journey. Some of the things I want to change are listed in my 169 day transformation.

    These included:
  • losing weight
  • growing out my hair
  • get rid of my acne
  • become generally healthier
Today I decided I wanted to add a few more changes and some goals:
  • start doing my nails more often
  • start college
  • dress nicer
  • find out who my true friends are
  • make more friends
  • devote more time to the bible
  • expand my vocabulary
  • finish writing 2 or more of my books
  • become a true activist
  • distribute my Pro-information books to planned parenthood
  • play more with my dogs
  • start a garden
  • own at least 2 chickens

If you counted that is 17 changes or goals that I want to accomplish by December 16, 2015. Some of these will be harder than others but I will try to attain as many as possible.

Always remember that you have a place in this world you were placed on this earth to affect someones life. I pray that God blesses you all and that you all have an amazing Christmas.

169 days

169 days until i get to go visit my friends i haven't seen in 6 months a year by the time I get to visit again! The number 1 reason i am posting about this is because I want to do an entire transformation before i see my friends again. I want to loose weight, become healthier, grow out my hair and get rd of my acne.

Right now this seems like a big task for me but i am determined!
Here are my goals:

  2. Cut out ALL processed foods and eat 80% or more organic
  3. I want to grow out my hair 4 inches or more
  4. Have healthier skin and get rid of most of my acne
I will try to post tips and tricks to achieve these every once and a while. Today I will go ahead and tell you what I am doing to grow out my hair.
  1. Wash my hair less (every 3 days)
  2. Not brushing or combing my hair when its wet
  3. Oiling the ends of my hair
  4. Wearing it up while I sleep
  5. Head massages
  6. And not playing with it!
My hair is currently about 13 inches long a little below my shoulder.

Thinking

So today I was thinking that the informative book I am writing on abortion really isn't a novel I should pause it for now and write an actual novel since it is nanowrimo. My novel is now called Dawn of Faith. This is a very quick rough and not finalized synopsis of the book:

"Book idea- a young girl that lives in a country that persecutes Christians and since she is a Christian they put out a warrant for her. But before she gets captured she wants to make sure there is enough evidence to convict her for being a Christian. Sh begins to graffiti crosses around her neighborhood in [?].  every day at noon she broadcast to the entire town and though neighboring the message of God each day having a new lesson. After a few weeks of being on the run the young girl is running down an ally away from the police when she is quickly swept to the side into a dark building. Once in the building and the militants pass by a young man begins to talk to her and ask questions about God he had never heard of God until he heard her  broadcast and has so many questions everyday she teaches him more and more about God they go on the run together and begin to hold services as they move across the country together."
After this month I will continue my informative book but for now this is my project. Even though it's not that big of a need I think that a good christian book is a necessity in todays world so I'll give it a shot.

Book update

Today I thought I would share my favorite verse I have used in my book so far and that is

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I concentrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5 ESV)
This is my favorite verse because it encompasses almost my entire point and it is also my opening verse. this is the first words from the bible people will see when they open my book and I am completely ecstatic about that thought!

Inspiration

Today I was getting a little behind on my personal goal for nanowrimo so I decided to go on Facebook for a little bit and I came across this verse:

This really made me start thinking about how I had asked God to give me his words so that I may share them with the world and if I stopped writing now I would be doing the exact opposite of sharing his word. God gives us each a way to be a light for him in this world and just maybe this is mine. If not there are other ways for me to share Gods grace and I will find that way.

Update: It seems as though the Lord really wants me to widen the use of his gospel even more in my writings which he has influenced greatly. I had asked my mother earlier today what I should read next in my bible even though she thought she had said Ephesians I heard Philippians and I think this happened because God wanted to show me this verse (Philippians 1:27): "Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ...".  To me saying that we should let our words flow from the bible and shine a light towards God.

Favorite Verse November

Well today I started participating in nanowrimo as you might have seen in my last post and I found a verse today that leads me to believe that God truly has given me the thought to write the facts about abortion to get people to start thinking. That verse is Jeremiah 1:7 which reads

"Do not say 'I am only a youth'; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak."

Though the Lord was talking to Jeremiah at that time and place I think this is a message to the christian youth of the world to speak what is right and true. I hope that the Lord will guide my words and aid me in discovering his hopes for our future world. If you have something the Lord is urging you to say but you don't know who to tell please comment below and together we can make the words known.

I'm Writing A Book

I am participating in Nanowrimo which is national novel writing month I started late but I am still striving towards having a very rough draft at the end of the month! My book is Pro-Information: A Look At Abortion you can read my synopsis by going to nanowrimo.org and searching for the username ErinMLife. Thanks for all of the support I will be uploading what I have written at the end of the month.

Religion

Over the past months there has been a lot of war on religion and I feel like each day we are loosing more and more sense of not only our religion but general morals. As a Christian this is very disheartening because I strive to be a light in this dark world as do many others and it makes us feel as if we are not doing our job. Scrolling through my news feed on facebook I see many things that prove that we our abusing our freewill and will soon feel the wrath of our choices.

Just today I found an article about the Pope wanting us (Christians) to learn how to coexist with muslims; how can you coexist with a group of people that want to see you suffer and die. I for one can not get my brain around this thought. This is not just based off opinion either, there have been many christians in the middle east that were told to convert to islam or die; there is one woman on trial today that will be hung for her faith.

Which brings me to two things 1) would you die for your faith? I for one would no matter how cruel the death. 2) If you were arrested for being a Christian would there be enough evidence to convict you? If you are having trouble answering this for yourself think about it; do you openly talk about the Lord, do you invite others to walk in Jesus' name, do you talk to God and lastly do you live life the way God wants you to? I'll let you think about those for awhile but to continue on let's just talk about this. Jesus Christ died on a cross for your sins he bore all of the punishment for you and he says that even if it were for even just one of us he would die the same death again. This is just 2 questions of many that will test your faith, God gives us hardships so that we may prove that we trust and believe in him.

We must also question our morals there is almost no sense of right or wrong these days. Everyday women are killing their unborn children and everyday people are stripped of their basic human rights. Rights that us Americans (or other developed countries) take for granite each day and actually think exist but if you really think about it are all of your rights, our God given rights, really in tack. There are so many things wrong with todays society but in order to change the world we must change our selves and make these wrongs seen. We must change ourselves in order to be a city on a hill, a hill the whole world will look up to and strive to become.

Prepper=Afraid uhmmm no.

Am I a prepper?

Yes

Am I afraid?

No

So as I said above I am a prepper most people assume that we (preppers) as a community are panicked or living in fear. While the majority of us are just going with the flow trying to live our normal lives. In my free time I can, fish, garden, and anything that can ensure my survival in the future if something were to happen. But I live my life every day knowing I am safe.

Another assumption is that we are "fear-mongers"; to me this is the exact opposite of what we are about every day on the news we see people being killed, disease spreading rampant through the world, and what do us preppers do? We tell you and aide you in preventing these awful things from happening to your family.

If we secluded our thoughts to just preppers in America; they are probably the most fearless, patriotic, strong, courages and opinionated people you would ever meet. to me these are all very good traits because those are a few of the things I strive to be in my every day life. A lot of people who do read this are going to say she's just been brain washed to think this but no you have been brain washed not to think that way. I've grown up in a conservative household that has encouraged me to learn facts from every where, use reasoning and go my own way. So if that's what you consider brain washing then yeah I'm brain washed and I'm proud of it. My opinions and thoughts are what I hold true to and it would take an over abundance of evidence to change where I stand.

Ebola....

Ebola and our world......

So as of this morning there are now 2 more cases of Ebola in Texas. The victims are 2 nurses that attempted to save Thomas Duncan (patient zero) after he had traveled to Dallas, Texas from Liberia to receive treatment in America. One of the now infected nurses was found traveling by plane while exhibiting symptoms of the very disease she watched kill a man just one week ago. Even if we were to trust the CDC with their statement that you are only contagious when exhibiting symptoms; This means that she has now infected at least 132 people on flight 1143 Cleveland to Dallas/Fort Worth on October 13th and possibly more on flight 1142 October 10th if she had misreported her symptoms.
These possible cases have an even higher risk of becoming ill, because CIDRAP is now reporting that the disease can be spread through aerosol particles such as exhaled breath thus making Ebola air born. CIDRAP is also reporting that the basic surgical mask that are currently being used to protect our medical staff are completely ineffective against EBOLA! Which means that those caring for Ebola patients must now wear full-hooded protective gear and powered air-purifying respirators.

This post was not made to make you panic just info. The info in this post has made me think more about my preps and making me step them up a little. These steps include becoming healthier, taking precautions while traveling, stocking up more food and learning how to keep myself safe.

I am now making sure that I can stay on place for 21 or more days which means I must have food, water, power, and for sanity reasons entertainment. If there is a sudden spike in cases I will be staying put and making sure others I know are doing the same. If you must go out in public please be observant of those around you and stay clear of anything you feel may be a "germ hub". I pray that everyone stays safe and this is just a scare. I believe that we as a people, a country, and world we can beat any trouble that comes our way as long  as we stay in touch with God and listen to what he has to say.

Pray to God and Prep on.

Update:

CDC now reporting that the 2nd nurse (Amber Vinson) may have been showing signs of a fever on October 10 the day of her first flight going to Cleveland. They are now requesting that those on flight 1142 from Dallas to Cleveland contact them as soon as possible. With this information just now coming to the surface the Frontier airliner that she was on had never been quarantined and has carried at least 12 more flights with 100's of more passengers. This plane has since traveled to WA, CA, AZ, PA, NC, FL and DE; these flights also including one international flight that I can not yet find the name of the destination. Without even thinking about flights her being symptomatic when she arrived in Cleveland, Ohio means that those she were visiting and those that she came in contact with in Cleveland are now at risk.

Along with the info on the nurse the CDC is now changing the incubation from 2-21 days to 2-42 day that the ambulance and people that came in contact with Thomas Duncan could still be caring the virus in them and not know it. With colder weather coming closer every day this could quickly spring into a pandemic due to the fact that Ebola thrives in cold & wet conditions and can live on surfaces even longer.

Physical Prepping

Hey everyone my name is Erin and I have to admit I am out of shape. As of right now I have decided to set aside all of my preps and focus on building my body strength and immune system, because what is the point of me being prepared if I can't defend my preps or I am not healthy enough to use them. The second reason I have decided to get in shape is because me and my sister were talking about doing the Color Run and I figured being able to run this 5k would be a great fitness goal

I started last night but my digs woke me up every thirty minutes so I was to tired to do my morning exercises. Tonight will be my official start of my routine.
Here it is:
Walk every afternoon for at least 20 min for the first week
Rest one day each week
Sit ups add 10 each week (start 20)
body twist (right leg to left arm, left leg to right arm) 50
12 burpees

This is what my plan is as of right now but I will post a schedule later this week.

The real beginning

Ok so I did not start this blog out very well but tonight I was inspired to start again.
Well here it goes.

For those just joining the party I am what most seem to consider a "radical conservative" which mainly means I think for myself and don't always agree with politics; I am also a devoted christian who seeks God daily and tries to bring him to others. Right now you probably think I'm going to start talking about my 20 kids or my time serving over seas, but I'm not because I don't have 20 kids because well I'm only 16 and while I have many family members serving I am not. Nor am I going to start talking like a "redneck farmer" (even though I am one) because, in just 3 months I will be a college student heading down the road towards my career as a teacher. I wanted to start like this because I know this is what almost everyone thinks. Why do I say this? Well last year while taking Political science 101 at my local community college I was ridiculed by not only the teacher but entire class and even graded poorly because of my OPINIONS; why anyone would think this would be okay I have no clue but it happened. This set a fire under my butt to make me work even harder to share my thoughts and OPINIONS (one reason for this blog). I felt the need to show everyone the lies they were being fed by everyone in the world, people needed facts, truths and a place where they could THINK FOR THEMSELVES.

Individuality is the most important commodity in the world today because everyone wants to fit in when we were built for a specific task that only WE can do. The world seems to be set on creating perfect little robots that all get a pluses in every subject and follows what ever the current leader says. God made us all with our quirks because he loves to look through our eyes and see the world as you do. You are who you are for a reason so just go for it and do what you want. Thanks for reading my blog it means a lot and I hope that my words and thoughts one day impact someone who is out there; and "remember God made special, and he loves you very much"(bob the tomato).

Faith journal 2

So as of December 16 of 2013, my 16th birthday, I have had a plan for me to complete certain life goals by the time I turn 20.

First I wanted to graduate along with the class of 2014. √
Then one that I just wanted to complete before my 20th birthday, was to take a trip with my friends.√
Find a job anywhere!
Start college fall of 2014
Graduate college with a BA in early childhood development by my 20th birthday

All of these were 100% achievable until I realized out of state tuition was three times the normal price of my courses. Even though I do live in the state where I am attending college they will not consider me a resident. This made me start doubting I would ever be able to complete my goals. While I now see that not all of my goals are achievable do to certain circumstances; I also realize that God has a plan. In this plan he has us reach milestones at a moment in time and not a second sooner.

I'm putting this problem in God's hands and praying that he guides me towards my goals. I will strive everyday to fulfill this plan but if it's not meant to happen it won't.

Healthy Banana Pudding

Recipe time! This is a recipe for Chia banana pudding and it is absolutely delicious.

All it takes is 3 ingredients and prep time is under 10 minutes.
Here they are:

  • 1/4 Milk
  • 2 TBS Chia Seeds
  • 1 Banana
To make it through the milk and banana in a blender (magic bullet or stick blender works best) and blend until smooth. Then just toss in the chia seeds and pulse the blender a couple times to mix the seeds in. Let it set in the fridge for at least 2 hours or until it is a pudding consistency and serve cold.

This is an awesome recipe because the Chia seeds and milk make this a complete protein, while the banana gives you a serving of fruit. For most people this will make 2 servings but I use it as a main part of my breakfast so it only makes one. If you are having trouble finding the chia seeds check out a local co-op or health food store, if you can't find them there look on here on Amazon verify that they are food grade Chia seeds.

Favorite Verse

Hey everyone so today is my first favorite verse blog and I just wanted to explain to you all how this type of post works. Each day I read a chapter of the book I am currently studying in the Bible and once I complete that chapter I choose a verse or group of verses that really stand out to me. After I read a couple chapters or I happen along a verse that I must share, I will then post it here and explain what I thought about this verse in conjunction with other verses that help portray an overall thought. Feel free to share your favorite verses and links to your blogs in the comments!

James 2:10 is my favorite verse of the week so far, because it explains that if you break one of the 10 commandments you might as well of broken them all. This is not saying however that if you have committed a sin you can never be saved for god is very forgiving and he shows us this in verse 1 John 1:9.

In this verse God welcomes you to come and wash away your sins so that you may begin again. This new beginning allows you to walk on a more righteous path with less sins, a path that will lead you to heaven. In order for this new beginning to help you must help yourself by not only repenting but changing your life so that sin may never enter your heart again.

For our God does love us and wants us to join him in heaven but we must show that we believe in him and want to be with him there.
Enjoy this song from the Newsboys on Youtube I feel that it will really just wrap up this whole post for you.

Faith Journal- How to Start

Today is all about Faith Journaling and how to start your own. Below are some of the things that I include in my journal, If you want to se my inspiration for this journal follow my Faith Journal board on Pinterest.

  1. Record your prayers- If you record your prayers and occasionally look back at them then you will be able to see how God has answered you.
  2. Favorite Verses- Write down the verses that really speak to you or you just like. This week my favorite verse was James 1:22 "But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves"
  3. Bible challenges/studies- Complete your devotions or bible studies in this book so you can see how the studies relate to your life. You can even make up your own challenges, one that I just found was that you take at least five minutes of your day to copy down complete books of the bible word for word.
  4. Blessings- Write down all the things God has done for you so that on those rainy days you can go back and see that the good things in life are so much better and more prominent in your life than the bad things in life.
  5. Diaries- Write down things about your day; this can help you see what you need to improve on, what you need to change and enable you to have memories on hand.
  6. Notes- Write down notes about certain verses, record what meaning they have for you and how you relate to the people God or Jesus is talking to in the verse.
  7. Respond- Talk to God, read his word and talk to him about it act as if it is a letter directly sent to you.
  8. Ask yourself questions- Talk to yourself about the verses you read, ask yourself if you are following the words of God.
  9. Have Fun- Draw pictures, make funny cute reminders and have fun.

What do you put in your faith journal? Comment below!

Welcome

About The Blog:

Hello and welcome to my blog! In this blog I will have a large variety of of post; they will include anything from pages of my Faith Journal to DIY projects that I have done. My main goal with this blog is to show my faith, share my ideas, express my opinion and share facts about the world. If you take one thing from this blog I hope that it is that a relationship with God can help you in all things!

About Me:

My name Is Erin and I live in sunny California in the middle of the desert. I consider my humble abode to be some what of a homestead so far all I have is dogs and the beginning of a garden, but I hope to eventually have cows, pigs, chickens and rabbits. This may take a while though considering we just moved into this 35 year old home 2 months ago, but we are moving towards these goals daily. I am the youngest of 3 kids and the only one at home if you don't consider the 3 (soon to be 4 or 5) dogs also living here. Thanks to being the youngest I now have both a beautiful niece (10 days) and nephew (20 months) who I don't get to see as often as I would like to. I graduated last year, go class of 2014, at the age of 16 from a homeschool co-op and am planning on starting my college career soon so that I may work towards my goal of owning and teaching at a christian school. I will not intentionally offend anyone but I am very conservative and I will not stop saying my opinion even if the whole world disagrees with me. I'll stop here so I don't spoil anything, but have no fear because there are more blogs coming!
